Mark Connors graduated from Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University (QCGU) in 2016 with a Bachelor of Music studying classical piano under Mr Oleg Stepanov.
He is frequently engaged to accompany school and community choirs throughout Brisbane. Mark has worked as a conductor of school choirs as well as accompanist, musical director and conductor for a number of community theatre musicals.
In 2015 he was the winner of the Margaret Nickson Prize for voice and piano together with soprano Kathryn George. Also that year he won the Hilda Woolmer Scholarship Prize for piano accompaniment at QCGU. This prize funded his participation in the 2016 International Art Song Academy at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), led by renowned accompanist Dr Graham Johnson.
2016 saw Mark as one of the repetiteurs for QCGU’s production of Albert Herring, directed by Bruce Beresford. Mark continues to work with classical singers for recitals and competitions around his busy teaching schedule.
