The award winning Underground Opera Company is finally coming back to New South Wales with its new venue in Sydney’s CBD. The Wilson Parking Sydney Opera House Car Park Ventilation Tunnel or “The Caves” for short. The space is located within the Wilson Parking Sydney Opera House Car Park. Meeting spot for the event is opposite the car park attendant’s office. You will then be guided through a tunnel and into the underground cave that is beneath the Royal Botanic Gardens.
You may have experienced our other Opera in the Caves performances at the Jenolan and Wellington Caves in NSW and The Capricorn Caves in Rockhampton. Like these magical experiences, Opera in the Caves – Sydney will offer extraordinary performances in Sydney’s most unique and breathtaking underground Opera House. Just the walk into the space is fantastic yet a very easy stoll.
Venture into The Caves for this incredible acoustic concert and be immersed in in the voices of Ms Julia McRae, Ms Louise Dorsman, Mr Glenn Lorimer and Mr Douglas McRae accompanied by the magnificent Mr Mark Connors on piano.
This inaugural concert will showcase some of the best Underground Opera (with a touch of Musical Theatre) performances from the last ten years. Magnificent show stopping arias, duets to make you laugh and cry with magnificent ensemble pieces that will have you on your feet cheering will fill this spacious tunnel where 200 tonne Road Headers once rumbled.

What they say
What an incredible event. Beautiful setting, fantastic voices, excellent choice of music, MC and piano accompaniment.- via Ticketmaster
I went to this event not knowing what to expect. The atmosphere of the caves was beautiful with the lighting and acoustics. The performers had the most beautiful voices and were so confident – true professionals.- via Ticketmaster
Again, a wonderful show. The respect and consideration shown to each other by the cast is an added benefit. The song selection each time they come is so well chosen, giving the artists enough of a challenge and the audience the thrill of recognition, hearing so many of our favourites.- via Ticketmaster
