The Underground Opera Company is excited to be returning to the Capricorn Caves for "Opera in the Caves" in May this year. If you experienced the inaugural concert "Opera Underground" last year you then you will certainly understand why the group's motto "Extraordinary performances in breathtaking spaces", is so appropriate.
With an acoustic quality better than that of the Sydney Opera House the Capricorn Caves is an incredible venue to perform in. The magnificent voices of The Underground Opera Company resonate beautifully through the natural limestone caves creating an atmosphere of musical indulgence. Experience some of our country's finest performers as they present a selection of Opera's greatest arias, duets and ensemble pieces.
If you have never been to the Opera before or you are the most ardent Opera buff then this concert is for you. All the pieces have been specially chosen to appeal to a broad audience whilst the performers' engaging vocal talents will enthrall the most seasoned Opera aficionados. To make the repertoire even more appealing we have included a few pieces from Musical Theatre Greats such as Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera.
"Opera in the Caves" will light up at the Capricorn Caves, Rockhampton, on May 22nd-24th with two evenings and one late afternoon performance on Sunday. Get a group of friends together a doll up for a great night at the Opera.
