In the search for the perfect acoustic, the producer of the Underground Opera Company (UOC), Bruce Edwards, has staged concerts in un- derground mines and caves through-out Eastern Australia. "It is absolutely incredible, the difference between hearing singers perform in an underground environment compared to the theatre. The Capricorn Caves in Rockhampton epitomises this. Not only are the venues unique but the sound and atmosphere is amazing. It is hard to describe it but you can physically feel the singers' voices tingling through you. I am very fortunate to be able to present performers of an International caliber in these magnificent venues and uphold our motto - Extraordinary performances in breathtaking spaces".
The Underground Opera Company is pleased to announce their latest Concert at The Capricorn Caves, Rockhampton, "Opera in the Caves". Opera in the Caves is proving to be very popular with the May concerts sold out nearly a month before the show! The Cathedral is the show-piece of the Capricorn Caves and will provide the most unique, intimate Opera and light opera concert you will have ever experienced, with some of the best voices you will have heard, in an environment you may never have seen.
The Underground Opera Company is pleased to present the talents of National and International performers Jennifer Turnbul, Sophie Wotton, Lionel Theunissen and Glenn Lorimer (Scottish National Opera Co./ London Opera Co.) with the sensational Regis Dannillon on piano. "Opera in the Caves" will light up the Capricorn Caves, Rockhampton on Nov 6, 7 & 8 for three shows only. Tickets will be available through TICKETMASTER on 13 61 00. When purchasing your tickets indulge in a delicious platter for two for interval. Discounts are available for groups of eight or more and seniors.
