After the great success of their inaugural Broadway Gold concert just on a year ago, UOC are returning to the Prophet Gold Mine, Kilkivan and The Her- itage Theatre at the Gympie Civic Centre. These venues will ignite for one show only with your favourite Broadway hits. So mark down February 28th in your diary as Broadway Gold!
Titled "Broadway Gold", the concert will thrill the audience with a selection of songs from classic musicals Les Miserables, Marry Poppins, My Fair Lady and more, mixed in with more contemporary musicals such as Songs for a New World and The Boy from Oz. In true Underground Opera fashion the show at the Prophet Gold Mine will include a spectacular gold pour after the show and delectable canapés during interval. Refreshments and snacks are also available.
The night will have the audience on roller coaster of musical greats that most will already now the tune and probably most of the words as well, so why not join in! "We want to break down the audience barrier so they feel like they are not just seeing a show but are part of the show", says producer Bruce Edwards
A magnificent cast of Queensland's finest talent has been carefully selected to bring the magnificence and splendour of these musicals to life. "Broadway Gold" features the superb voices of Louise Gavin, Kaitlin Oliver, Adam Flowers and Glenn Lorimer with the inspiring James Dobinson on Piano.
February can be warm so the evening is smart casual but steps have been taken to cool the venues covered audience area, although, feel free to bring your own seat and sit under the stars.
Broadway Gold will light up the Prophet Gold Mine on February the 28th at 7:30pm with a 1pm matinee performance at the Heritage Theatre, Gympie Tickets will be available through the Gympie CD Centre (5482 2615) or the Kilkivan News and Take-away (5484 1148).
