If you are an ardent Opera and Broadway fan or have never experienced either then “Opera on Broadway” is a must see! The concert will thrill the audience with a selection of songs from classic musicals Phantom of the Opera, Cats and more, mixed in with popular Opera greats from Carmen, Madame Butterfly, the immortal Nessun Dorma from Turandot and many more. In true Underground Opera fashion the show is at a gold mine, namely, The Prophet Gold Mine in Kilkivan. Of course no show is complete without the obligatory free glass of wine, and delectable canapés during interval.
The Prophet Gold Mine presents a beautiful, rustic bush setting with its ambient stone theatre accentuating every note. Audiences from past shows have commented with “You brought tears to my eyes, loved it!”, “Absolutely fantastic!”, ”Magnificent voices, great performance”.
A magnificent cast of Queensland’s finest talent has been carefully selected to bring the magnificence and splendour of these musicals to life. “Opera on Broadway” features the superb voices of Glen Lorimer (Scottish National Opera Co., London Opera Company), Sheldon Matheison (Opera Qld), with the incredible John Woods on Piano and introducing Jordin Steele, Bethan Ellsmore and Sofie Haig-Smith.

For those of you whom like to travel Underground Opera will be presenting “Opera Underground” 61 metres underground at the Central Deborah Gold Mine in Bendigo, Victoria, on the 14th, 15th & 16th of November and on the 21st, 22nd & 23rd in the magnificent ”Cathedral” at the Capricorn Caves in Rockhampton.
